Working student Software engineering (AI-first)

A new industry is being born right now. And you can be there when the first professional AI agents move into real companies. Not as chatbot toys but as operational colleagues with ownership. At AGENTICAL you help build them, in a lean team of specialists. Claude Code, Codex and co. are your tools. Firing off prompts is easy. You read the code the agent writes and own it.

Why now

We are at a point in software history where an entire industry is being born. AI agents will change work the way cloud and mobile did before. Being in the front row means: not in five years when everyone else joins, but now, when the first real agents go live inside real companies.

That is exactly what we do at AGENTICAL. We bring agentic employees into the German mid-market: as colleagues who understand processes, deliver operationally and take ownership. Anyone who starts with us is part of a small team that shapes this new industry.

What you build

  • AI agents for clients that run as real operational employees in marketing, sales or internal processes. Not demo, not concept, but productive in use.
  • MVPs and prototypes for new agent roles and client projects: built fast, clean enough to go live.
  • Further develop existing agents and the tools around them: interfaces, data integrations, internal cockpits, without which agents cannot work.

Your stack: Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw and whatever ships this week. Plus TypeScript, React, Node or Python, depending on the project. Paid access and API budget included.

What you bring

  • You have built something real with Claude Code, Codex or comparable agents and can show it. One link is enough.
  • You can actually code: you read the code the agent writes and spot when it produces nonsense.
  • You are an enrolled student, ideally computer science or a related field.

Plus, not required: own projects live, GitHub with substance, experience with multi-agent setups. Grades do not interest us. What you built does.

What you get

  • Pay well above working-student standard, depending on what you can do.
  • 10 to 16 hours per week, flexible. Exam periods are planned in.
  • Office in Cologne-Mülheim, welcome on site. Remote works too.
  • Direct work with the founder, real ownership, no ticket factory.

How to apply

No cover letter, no CV theatre. Send us a link to something you built, plus five sentences on who you are and why you want in.

Two ways: application form on agentical.de or direct email to jobs@agentical.de with subject "Working student AI-first".

Sounds like you? Two clicks to apply. We get back in person.
